The motor of the hay cutter failing to start may be caused by various reasons:
Power supply issues
• Plugs and sockets: Check whether the motor plug is firmly inserted into the socket. Sometimes, a loose plug will cause the motor to be unable to obtain electricity. Meanwhile, confirm whether the socket is supplying power normally. You can test it by plugging other electrical appliances into this socket.
• Damaged wires: Check whether the wires connected to the motor show signs of damage, breakage or aging. If the conductors inside the wires are broken, the motor will not be able to receive current.
Malfunctions of the motor itself
• Capacitor damage: The failure of the motor's capacitor is one of the common reasons. Capacitor damage may lead to the motor's inability to start or difficulty in starting. A multimeter can be used to test the capacitor. If the capacitor is damaged, it needs to be replaced with a capacitor of the same specification.
• Short circuit or open circuit of the winding: If the motor winding has a short circuit or open circuit, the current cannot pass through normally, and naturally the motor cannot operate. This may be caused by reasons such as long-term use of the motor, overheating or moisture. Detecting whether the winding has a short circuit or open circuit requires professional tools and knowledge, and generally requires professional maintenance.
